@A new for in colour of paph. malipoense was described by Dr. Hans H. Fessel et al in Die Orchidee , 51 (5) 560, 2000.
The summary is as follows,
@We received for identification specimens of Paphiopedilum malipoense, which differ from the typical plants, they have shorter leaves, the lips are nearly white without spots on the inner surface of the inflated pouch, broadly infolded side-lobes of the lip, which are nearly completely coloured or densely spotted brownish purple, we describe this colour variation as a new form.
