Dr. L. A. Averyanov described new variety of Paph. gratrixianum to be Paph. gratrixianum var. daoense in Orchid Review ( 2002) 110,280-287. This species grow as a lithphyte on granite and rhyolite at 950~1100. in the north Viet Nam. It is smaller and has typical spotts on yellow-white of dosal sepal.
