Orchid Festival was open to public in Spa Resort Hawaiians,
Iwaki City, Fukushima-Ken. This show was held by many orchid
hobbyists around in order to enjoy orchids by themselves. It
has passed 3 years from the 1st show. I had a chance to visit
this show every year but not. But in this year, I have visited
this show by one of the reason why I accepted a lecture in this
show. First of all, I was surprised this resort area was so huge
with nice facilities for recreation including hot spring pool
( see photos bellow) and many kinds of hot springs. And they
have hotel with over 350 rooms and the rooms are always occupied
by reservation. At least 5000 visitors are visiting here , I
hard. The orchid show was held in the special area which is upstairs
from the main big pool of hot spring and in green house where
banana is growing well with their fruits. In this area, visitors
have on aloha sheets like Hawaiians or a short-sleeved undershirt,
our brains reeled because we were in winter wares. It is in mid
summer. In these days, I'm so busy that I enjoy with my families.
So in this short trip, I came with my wife. When she left home,
she looked troublesome. But when we go back, she like here and
said ' We want to come next year too '
The show was succeeded with so many orchids with high quality.
Especially, the awarded flowers in blue ribbon, we can not see
so often. I enjoyed the orchids and the enthusiasm of exhibitors
and the concerned too. I hope this show will be extended much
bigger to be one of the biggest show in Japan.
